The 2nd phase of Oil Sands Consultations
has now been completed and no further submissions are
being accepted. The final report with recommendations
focusing on vision and principles for continued oil
sands development in Alberta is now being prepared and
will be submitted to the Ministers of Energy, Environment
and Sustainable Resource Development in June 2007. |

Internet
Notice to all individuals
who provide written submissions to the Oil Sands Multistakeholder
Committee, its Panel or the Secretariat supporting the Committee
and Panel, or who make presentations to the Panel at its public
meetings:
Thank you for participating in the Committee’s public consultation
phase. This public input will aid in the development of strategies
and actions to achieve the vision and principles on future oil sands
policy directions set out in the Committee’s Interim
Report . Your participation contributes to the Committee carrying
out its mandate.
In order to facilitate and support an open and transparent process,
the Oil Sands Multistakeholder Committee will place on its website:
(a) a copy of the written submission provided by you to the Committee,
its Panel or the Secretariat, and
(b) a copy of the transcript of the proceedings of the Panel at
the public consultation meetings held by the Panel, including
the portion of those proceedings which include the presentation,
if any, made by you to the Panel at those public meetings.
Prior to placing these documents on the website, references, if
any, to what appear to be home Email addresses, home addresses and
home telephone numbers, age, marital or family status that may appear
on the written submissions or are contained in the transcripts will
be removed in order to protect personal privacy. Your name, however,
will be retained and will not be removed. Also, any references to
Email addresses, addresses and telephone numbers which appear to
be associated with a business will be retained
We are of the view that placing the information as described above
on the Committee’s website is not an unreasonable invasion
of personal privacy and is for a purpose for which the information
was collected or for a use consistent with that purpose.

NOTICE RESPECTING MATERIALS AUTHORED BY 3rd PARTIES
If a person provides the Committee or its Panel with materials that
have been authored by a person [“3rd party”] other than
the person [“the presenter”] providing the material,
the presenter represents and warrants to the Committee, its Panel
and to the Government of Alberta [in consideration of the presenter
being permitted to make submissions to the Committee and to the
Panel], that the presenter has permission to provide the Committee,
its Panel and the Government of Alberta with materials authored
by the 3rd party.
